Schedule:  Construction 2005/Final Phases 2006

Construction Cost:  $9.188 Million

BKL was selected to design a new courthouse for the citizens of Mayes County. We provided full budgeting, programming, design, construction documents, and construction services for the project. The new courthouse is 70,000 sq. ft. on three floors. It contains four full size courtrooms with judicial chambers. All of the county offices including the Sheriff are housed within the building. There are spacious lobbies for public circulation. It is constructed of brick masonry and cast stone exterior walls. The interior public spaces are terrazzo floors and solid surface wainscoting.

The new courthouse was constructed around the existing courthouse on the courthouse square. Once it was completed and occupied the existing courthouse was demolished. This allowed for the completion of the parking and the “front lawn” of the new courthouse in the fall of 2006.

The building incorporates a geothermal heat pump system that provides economical heating and cooling for the building. A unique underground storage system was provided for on-site storm water detention. BKL was pleased to provide all these services for the project that came in under the projected budget.
