BKL developed the master plan for the new First United Methodist
Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. BKL first assisted the church in selecting the 12.5
acre site, then met with the church officials and congregation to create a
project “program” for the master plan of the facility. We researched and
collated information and needs for all aspects of the congregation. We worked
closely with the building committee to create a master plan that satisfied those
needs. We provided a phase one project to begin the master plan and construction
of the church was completed in early 2006.
One of the features of the church is that it is close to an
elevated highway. The congregation requested a design that would be prominent to
the highway and the surrounding neighborhood. We provided a two story design
with detailing that provides interest from the highway and the local
neighborhood streets. BKL is excited to be part of the First United Methodist
Church project.
