New Courthouse: $18,000,000

New 911 Center:  $2,000,000

Rogers County selected BKL, Inc. to provide a Courthouse Feasibility Study and now BKL is in the process of a designing the new Courthouse and a 911 Center

The new Courthouse will be built adjacent to the existing Jail.  This will allow the best security for prisoner transport.  This will also allow business as usual in the existing Courthouse during construction.  This location will also provide an excellent final presentation for the public face of the building when the existing Courthouse is removed and a public plaza is installed on the west side

A new facility allows for the security of the Courthouse to be designed into it from the beginning.  It will allow a separate, secure prisoner corridor to deliver prisoners to the Courtrooms.  It will allow a separate corridor for the judicial staff to access the Courts, District Attorney and Court Clerk without being in the public lobbies.  Public lobby space will be for the general public.  The probability for conflict will be greatly reduced.

Building a new facility eliminates the compromises that would have to take place in a remodeled building.  It is the best opportunity for Rogers County to create a Courthouse that can be a source of civic pride.

The 911 Center will be located remote from the Courthouse.  It was deemed important to provide a location that could offer the best security so that the facility could remain in operation in times of crisis.  This is best accomplished by having a self-contained site where traffic to and from the facility can be monitored and security systems can be put in place around the perimeter.  The site that is chosen will dictate the appearance of the building.  The facility will be designed to withstand severe threats both man made and from nature.  This facility is intended to house the 911 emergency systems for the entire County.  This will include Police, Fire and Medical team responses.  This should provide the citizens of Rogers County a much more coordinated effort to address their needs in times of crisis.  The facility will be designed to incorporate the Emergency Management procedures if that function is disabled at the Courthouse.  Space and technology will be provided for coordinating agencies.
