This project consisted of widening East 15th Street and South Utica Avenue from an existing 4-lane to 5-lane to add left turn bays in all four directions. This location was a difficult area to improve because of the existing right-of-way not being sufficient to allow for the proposed street widening and many of the existing buildings encroaching on the standard right-of-way for this type of improvement. The utility relocations were also challenging.  BKL was responsible for grading, drainage, vertical/horizontal alignment, paving, storm sewer, waterline relocation, construction sequencing and right-of-way acquisition.
